Overcoming doubt & fundraising update

After waiting for what seems like forever, I will finally be leaving for my new adventure doing ministry with the World Race next week! The anticipation leading up to the race hasn’t been easy and considerably filled with doubt. I believe doubt before big changes in our lives is a normal thing many people face, that being said it does not make battling uncertainty any easier. 

This summer I spent a lot of time reflecting on whether the World Race was the right fit for me. After boot camp in June, I felt a little overwhelmed and discouraged by the choice I was about to make. I prayed and prayed, and our faithful God answered me clear as day during my daily devotion time.  Here is the excerpt from “Jesus Calling” on July 14th that spoke loudly to my heart: 

“Keep walking with Me along the path I have chosen for you. Your desire to live close to Me is a delight to My heart. I could instantly grant you the spiritual riches you desire, but that is not My way for you. Together We will forge a pathway up the high mountain. The journey is arduous at times, and you are weak. Someday you will dance light footed on the high peaks; but for now your walk is often plodding and heavy. All I require of you is to take the next step, clinging to My hand for strength and direction. Though the path is difficult and the scenery dull at the moment, there are sparkling surprises just around the bend. Stay on the path I have selected for you. It is truly the path of life.” 

“You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore” -Psalm 16:11 

I had never felt so reassured and affirmed in anything else before!  Participating in the World Race mission is exactly where the Lord wants me to be this year, and I feel honored to have been called to serve Him in this capacity. Upon my arrival, I will be spending 2 months at the World Race Missions base in Georgia to learn and train before we leave for…drumroll please…Romania on November 5th! We will be serving and ministering in a variety of ways including: teaching English, feeding the hungry, building and cleaning, and most importantly, spreading hope through Jesus! Like I said before, I will be using my blog quite frequently to update those who’d like to know what I’m up to! 

As I near the home stretch to launch week, I am praying and trusting God for His continued provision and leading.  I have been tremendously blessed to raise $9,080 so far toward my $15,600 goal!  And recently, a family generously gave a $2000 matching gift to help me reach my goal.  They will match dollar for dollar up to $2000. That means if you were to donate $50, my matchers would as well, gifting me with $100! 

Would you prayerfully consider partnering with me to help fund the remaining $6,520 needed to close the gap for this mission outreach?
